What is Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis?

1

Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis (FBCA) is a method of analysing blood test results using functional ranges as compared to conventional ranges in modern medicine. These narrower ranges aim to help us better understand your existing pathology results and how they may relate to your overall wellbeing, nutrition, lifestyle, energy, digestion, hormones, thyroid health, stress load and health patterns.

This is not a replacement for medical care, diagnosis or treatment. Instead, it offers an educational and lifestyle-focused perspective to help you feel more informed about your results and the next practical steps you may wish to consider.

Can you look at my blood tests if my GP said they were normal?

What kinds of symptoms or concerns do people commonly come to you with?

How do I know which service is right for me?

Yes. Many people seek support because they have been told their results are โ€œnormal,โ€ but they still do not feel like themselves.

A standard medical review is important for identifying disease, safety concerns and conditions requiring medical treatment. A functional review looks more broadly at patterns, trends and relationships between markers, such as iron status, inflammation, blood sugar regulation, thyroid markers, liver markers, vitamin D, B12, folate and other relevant areas where available.

The goal is to help you better understand what your results may be showing from a nutrition, lifestyle and wellbeing perspective.

Do you diagnose medical conditions?

3

No. I do not diagnose medical conditions through this service.

As a Nutritional Consultant/Coach with additional nutrition and functional health education, my role is to provide education, lifestyle guidance and support within my scope of practice. Any abnormal, concerning or medically significant results should be discussed with your GP or relevant medical practitioner.

What is the difference between a Nutrition Foundations Review and a Functional Health & Bloodwork Review?

Do you recommend supplements?

Do you offer testing?

Yes. Your GP remains an important part of your healthcare team, especially for diagnosis, medical investigations, medication decisions, referrals and monitoring of any health condition.

My work is designed to complement, not replace, appropriate medical care.

People often seek support when they are experiencing things like low energy, digestive discomfort, bloating, constipation, food reactions, stress-related symptoms, sleep disruption, thyroid concerns, low iron, hormone-related changes, or simply feeling like something is โ€œoffโ€ even when they have been told everything looks fine.

The focus is on education, practical nutrition and lifestyle strategies, and helping you understand what may be worth exploring further.

A Nutrition Foundations Review is best suited if you want support with your current food intake, meal structure, protein, blood sugar balance, digestive habits, lifestyle foundations and sustainable changes.

A Functional Health & Bloodwork Review is better suited if you have recent blood test results and want help understanding what they may indicate from a broader nutrition and lifestyle perspective.

If you are unsure, a discovery call can help you choose the most appropriate starting point.

Supplements may be discussed where appropriate, but they are not the foundation of care.

The priority is always to understand the bigger picture first, including your symptoms, food intake, lifestyle, stress, sleep, digestion, bloodwork and goals. If supplements are suggested, they are used to support a broader plan rather than replace nutrition, lifestyle or medical care.

Depending on the service and your needs, testing may be discussed as part of your broader health picture. This may include standard pathology through your GP or privately arranged functional testing where appropriate.

Testing is not always necessary. In many cases, we start with your current results, symptoms, nutrition and lifestyle foundations before deciding whether further testing would be useful.

If you mainly want to improve your nutrition foundations, start with a Nutrition Foundations Review.

If you have blood test results and want help understanding them, start with a Functional Health & Bloodwork Review.

If you want a more comprehensive and supported approach over several months, the 12-week Integrative Reset may be a better fit.
